THE DAYS ARE GETTING COOLER AND SHORTER
TIME OF THE “YIELD” COLLECTION COMING WITH GREAT STEPS, FROM OUR FISHERIES FARMS RAWECO, INCLUDING OUR ORGANIC FISH.
The whole regrowth season, which began with a hot May and ended with a pleasant September, was very gracious due to the high temperatures that favored carp feeding. To this day, our fish let you know about their huge appetite. Caring for their natural, healthy diet, they get from us every day every day in the form of crushed cereal grains. We will limit feeding only before harvesting, which is planned for mid-October this year. In the meantime, we also did control catches, which allowed us to assess fish growth and their condition. The results are very satisfactory and promising an excellent catch. We will have a commercial carp weighing from 1500g to 3000g, a step weighing from 300g to 450g and fry in the range of 40g to 60g. In addition to the above of the species other fish of the cyprinid family will also be available, i.e. amur and silver carp, also in the sizes intended for consumption.
Mowing the pond
Currently, preparatory work for autumn harvesting is underway, including on the preparation of nets, coffers, sorting table, trailers, swimming pools, farm tractors, backhoe loader, which is used to extract a larger mass of fish from the chip and scrubber, supply with technical oxygen cylinders and many other activities necessary to efficiently carry out all manipulation. We cure the crowns of the dike for faster and safe transport between reservoirs, we also clean their slopes of grasses for better observation and access to the bottom of the pond. We mow vegetation emerged and immersed in ponds and ditches that could make it difficult for us to drain water. We want to limit as much as possible the contact and stress caused by our charges during the harvest. Everything is done so that an organic, clean product without the smell of a pond and the highest quality is on the table.
